Emergency Pump Replacement at a Nightclub in Lincoln
We were asked to attend a nightclub in Lincoln to install a replacement pump supplied directly by the client. During installation, an unexpected specification issue meant the outlet connection differed from the existing pipework, requiring an immediate on-site engineering solution to keep the system operational. Our team implemented a temporary connection to restore functionality while correct reducer components were sourced for a permanent installation.

The Brief
We were requested to attend site at a nightclub in Lincoln to install a replacement pump supplied by the client. During installation, it became clear the pump outlet size differed from the existing system specification, preventing a direct connection to the outgoing pipework. To avoid disruption to site operations, a temporary solution was required while the correct reducer components were sourced.
What We Did
- We were requested to attend site at a nightclub in Lincoln to install a replacement pump supplied by the client. During installation, it became clear the pump outlet size differed from the existing system specification, preventing a direct connection to the outgoing pipework. To avoid disruption to site operations, a temporary solution was required while the correct reducer components were sourced.
- Specification Issue Identified During installation, we identified the pump outlet size differed from the original system connection, preventing the hose from fitting correctly.
- Temporary Engineering Solution Implemented With reducers unavailable at short notice, a temporary connection was created using layflat material and secure fixing methods to allow the system to operate safely.
- Operational Continuity Maintained This allowed the pumping system to remain functional while replacement parts were arranged.
- Permanent Components Ordered Our office team arranged for the correct reducer components to be sourced to enable a full permanent installation.
- Return Visit Planned A follow-up visit was scheduled to complete the final connection once the correct parts became available.
