We recently attended a site in York to investigate ongoing issues with a pumping system and carry out the required remedial works to restore reliable operation. The project involved structural modifications within the chamber and the replacement of several key components to improve system stability and performance. Following the works, the system was fully tested and commissioned to ensure it was operating correctly and safely.

The Brief
The client was experiencing ongoing issues with the pumping system and required a full site inspection and remedial works to address faults within the installation. The scope of works focused on modifying the chamber structure and replacing key components that support the pumps and associated infrastructure. The objective was to restore system performance, ensure secure pump mounting, and confirm the installation was operating correctly following completion of the works.
What We Did
- System Investigation: Attended site to assess the pumping system and identify the cause of the ongoing operational issues.
- Chamber Modifications: Carried out structural modifications within the chamber to support the installation of upgraded pump components.
- Pump Stool Replacement: Replaced the pump stools to improve pump positioning and support within the system.
- Pipework & Cabinet Replacement: Installed new pipework along with replacement kiosk and cabinet to modernise the system infrastructure.
- Guide Rail Installation: Installed new guide rails to improve pump alignment and allow safer maintenance access.
- Structural Support Installation: A steel girder was installed at the base of the tank and securely cemented in place. Chains, shackles, and claws were fitted to the pumps to ensure secure mounting.

Following completion of the works, the system underwent full testing and commissioning.
